How should you take this medication?

Tilade Inhaler should not be used with other mouthpieces.
Avoid spraying the medication in your eyes.
--If you miss a dose...
To work properly, Tilade must be inhaled every day at regular intervals. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take double doses.

Store Tilade Inhaler at room temperature. Because the contents are under pressure, do not puncture, incinerate, or place near heat.
What side effects may occur?
Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue using Tilade.
More common side effects may include:
- Chest pain
- coughing
- fever
- headache
- nausea
- inflamed nose and sinuses
- sore throat
- unpleasant taste
- upper respiratory tract infection
- wheezing
Less common side effects may include:
- Abdominal pain
- bronchitis
- conjunctivitis (pinkeye)
- diarrhea
- difficult or labored breathing
- dizziness
- dry mouth
- fatigue
- increased sputum
- indigestion
- rash
- viral infection
- vomiting
Why should this drug not be prescribed?
Tilade Inhaler should not be used if you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to nedocromil sodium or any of Tilade's other ingredients. Make sure your doctor is aware of any drug reactions you have experienced.
Special warnings about this medication
This medication will not stop an asthma attack. However, you should continue to take it during an attack, along with a bronchodilator (a medication that increases air flow to your lungs) to relieve the acute symptoms.
If your symptoms do not improve or get worse, call your doctor right away; don't try increasing the dose to make the medication work.
Medications that are inhaled can cause coughing and wheezing in some people. If you experience these symptoms, stop taking Tilade and notify your doctor immediately.
Possible food and drug interactions when taking this medication
No interactions have been reported.
Special information if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
The effects of Tilade during pregnancy have not been adequately studied. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, notify your doctor immediately. Tilade may appear in breast milk and could affect a nursing infant. If this medication is essential to your health, your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding until your treatment is finished.
Recommended dosage
Adults and Children 12 Years of Age and Over
The recommended dose is 2 inhalations 4 times a day at regular intervals. If you are doing well on that dosage, your doctor may try reducing the dose after a time.
Children
The safety and effectiveness of Tilade Inhaler have not been established in children under 6 years of age.
Overdosage
A dangerous reaction is unlikely. However, any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
